Co-ops and the Pursuit of Peace Conference

From June 18th to 20th, 38 participants representing over 14 different countries gathered in Victoria to review the historical record of how co-operatives have addressed conflict and to reflect on current practices of co-operatives operating in areas deeply divided by political, economic, and social injustices. Hosted by BCICS, the conference was a huge success!

Promoting Co-operative Development in China

From May 15 to 18, Dr. Ian MacPherson joined 38 experts from over 20 countries at a special workshop - Expert Group Meeting on Cooperatives and Employment - in Shanghai, China. The workshop was organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA).

BCICS Radio Show Looking Forward to 2nd Season

Each for All: The Co-operative Connection is wrapping up its first four months on the air. The Show has received a flood of positive feedback from local listeners, as well as podcast listeners throughout Canada and across the Atlantic.The second season will feature revised Co-operatives 101 episodes in preparation for syndicating the show to other community and campus radio stations in Canada.
